Virginia Patriot, I could not have said it better than your comment. Sometimes I feel that we are being sold down the
river and can do absolutely nothing about it. It's bad enough that the uber liberal know nothings are standing on the
border with lemonade and cookies to welcome these illegals, but they call us racists for wanting to enforce our
immigration laws, and the conservatives are getting sunburned on their butts from standing around with their heads
in the sand.
Contrary to what some might think, I am not against Mexicans. I am against illegal Mexicans in this country and the
Mexican Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson types that want to keep the legal Americans of Mexican descent
ignorant and barefoot in order to raise themselves up.
What defeats me is that any person that has the wherewithal to cross the Mexican and U.S. deserts (I have lived in
the Arizona desert and in S TX "drylands") will not reach down deep inside of him/herself to learn English and to
assimilate into the "better life" we are told they all want. When the previous amnesty was granted, I was certain that
now, these new legals would learn English and assimilate. Foolish, foolish me!!
We all know that when our ancestors arrived at Ellis Island, the very people that were there to scam and flat out rob
them were their own people. In other words, Italians bilked Italians, Irish bilked Irish, etc.
If you came from a country that is so bad that you started walking or you paid a coyote every cent that you had in the
world, why would you want to live in an area of this country that is close to what you left? Why not apply for a green
card and come here legally? Surely that would be much easier than what the liberals and the conservative that sit
in Washington DC and bandy the word amnesty about are encouraging them to do. That is just flat out
irresponsible because everytime someone says amnesty, the word goes out in Mexico and here they come.
I do know that Mexicans are not our only illegals. They are just the largest and loudest group. If you don't believe me
just try getting a picnic table at a park in Texas or going to the FW zoo on the weekend. I do not shop at Walmart. I
got tired of playing roller derby with the unattended children of illegals. ("no m'hijo, doan do that m'hijo!") ( No great
loss. I've never really liked Walmart.)
If this sounds suspiciously like a rant..it is. Sometimes you just have to vent or the blood pressure will eventually go
through the roof.
My youngest sister said that she feels so helpless when she thinks about the climate in this country. I agree. If
someone did come up with a surefire solution that could be implemented tomorrow, Pelosi would make sure no
one heard about it and if she failed, the Hero of Chappaquidik (?) Ted Kennedy would pick up her fallen torch or
that old Klansman Robert Byrd would stand at his podium and call the person a racist.
