There was a demonstration in Irving, Tx last weekend. Both sides were there- the pro illegal immigrants and
immigration and the anti Illegal Immigrants and Immigration. Both sides were displaying their signs and at times,
yelling. One young woman yelled, "This was Mexico before and it is Mexico again!"
I don't know why the MSM showed that clip because it certainly didn't help the pros arguments and it didn't show
this woman in a good light because she apparently doesn't know or is ignoring Texas history. Can we say,
Remember the Alamo, Remember the Massacre at Goliad and Remember San Jacinto where Generallismo
Santa Ana was literally caught with his pants down, boys and girls!! Texas was won away from Mexico with blood!
If Mexico thinks that implanting enough of their citizens in this state will let them reclaim Texas again, they are,
once again mistaken about the determination and grit of Texans. Now, I'm not talking about transplanted Texans.
I don't know most of them well enough to say how they will react. I'm talking about the Texans that have been
described as " a band of outlaws loosely aligned with the rest of the United States." These are the Texans that will
take exception, to the point of rising up, when Mexico starts flexing this new found muscle.
Right now everyone is still mouthing off. The more militant American Mexicans are lying to their followers and
making them think that theirs is a civil rights issue as that of the African Americans in this country in the 1960s.
That is patently untrue. Theirs is a question of legality and the fact that there are cities and even states that are
thumbing their noses at federal law does not make their cause somehow valid.
We are told that this country cannot operate economically without these illegal aliens doing the jobs Americans
won't do. We are told that they are not a burden on the American taxpayers. This is also patently untrue.
Jeff Poor has an article on newsbusters.org titled 'Evening News' Distressed Over Plight of Illegal Immigrants.
This is a truly informative and eye opening article in which he reports on a study by the Heritage Foundation. In
this study a household headed by an individual with a high school education, which includes about two-thirds of
illegal aliens, costs U.S. taxpayers more than $32,000 in federal, state and local benefits. That same family
contributes an average of $9,000 a year in taxes, resulting in a net burden of $22,449 a year.
"Over the next ten years, the constant dollar net cost of low-skill households (immediate benefits received minus
taxes paid) is likely to be at least $3.9 trillion," wrote Robert Rector, author of the study.
We are constantly being told that the country cannot afford to be without these illegals. I have worked with
numbers for a good portion of my life and that argument just doesn't fly when you start working the numbers. I am
certain that we would pay higher costs for products if our costs were reduced in other ways. Then the numbers
would add up.
Once again, greed seems to be winning. Greed of Mexico for the dollars sent home by illegals and the removal
of dissatisfied underclass from Mexico to our country. Greed of business owners who want to keep their bottom
lines as low as possible and their profits as high as possible. Greed of the people that are manipulating these
people to further their own political ambitions and the greed of the illegal alien for benefits and better living
conditions (at least this greed I can understand.)
What I cannot understand and will never applaud, is the willingness to deliberately thumb their noses at the law
of the land that is being so good to them. I cannot understand the people that push and push for everyone to
deliberately break the law even when they are the very people that were voted into office, usually on a law and
order platform.
However, when I hear, "This was Mexico before and it's Mexico again," all I can think to say to that is, "REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!!!!!!"
Til next time
